THIS past week, yours was afforded an in-depth perspective on BMW’s latest effort to entice us Yanks to the benefits of diesel propulsion at the helm of the 2011 335d. Fifty plus miles per gallon mileage benefits were immediately plain. Four hundred twenty five torques – Bentleyesque. The question however remains: is the soon-to-be-replaced E90 3er the right platform to display BMW’s latest diesel technology? Is the 335d dynamic enough to change established perceptions of the crudest of fossil fuels? We’ll approach these questions and more in a series of posts to come next week.
