This reminded me of the trip to work following a 500 SL through an industrial park. The road originally was intended to be one lane in each direction with with a center turn lane and wide break down lane, but due to traffic volume it was re-striped as two lanes in each direction.

This particular section of road was a series of sharp 90 degree turns. I was behind the SL in the right lane approaching a bend to the right. In the left lane ahead of us both was a tractor trailer.

The SL thought the truck was too slow and began passing on the right. You've likely know where this is going. The semi pinned the SL against the curb and crushed the top. Fortunately the SL driver was unhurt.

Gunnar cover the LX570. Test drove it today. Felt a whole lot more upscale than the GL. For starters had sportier front seats. The standard tires were HUGE. The tundra engine has a lot more oomph than the LX470. The dash design felt cheap and weird. The car is very starship enterprise with this titanium finish.

The north american version comes with a lot less chrome than the Japanese version.

As for problems, this SUV is too plain on the sides. They abandoned wheel flares (as seen on the previous LX and current GX). The entire side profile is boring. It needs an aerokit.

Other than that it should last atleast 10 years before its next iteration introduced.
