GM's problem has not been lack of technology, though they have not been in the forefront, but the inability to properly execute the mundane tech that they put in their cars. Cheap feeling small controls, cheap materials, and interior designs that feature multiple dash panels that eventually rattle and squeak.

The newest models are a vast improvement over what was sold even 3 years ago, but the image of crap quality is well dug in to the buying public's image of GM.
