With regard to automobiles, Bentley and Rolls are the only remaining marques that practice the level of craftsmanship. While never at the level of these manufactures Mercedes, Jaguar, Cadillac and others offered similar, though more limited details in their top of the line cars. For a Saturday outing, wander down to your local vintage auto emporium and seek out a Jag or Merc from the 50s-60s or Caddy or Lincoln from the 30s and note the details in how the dash is made, how the seats come together or significantly the metal and how it is formed for the grill. Now head over the dealer of those brands and look at the same things.

Earlier this year I was thinking about a new bike. An acquisition that should only be around $500-600 to meet my needs, then I saw this, http://antbikemike.wordpress.com/boston-roadster/ There is no new bike in the garage and I'm justifying this in mind, or at least trying to.

Jim,

You're a man after my own heart. Fortunately, there are many fine, handmade treasures that exhibit exquisite detail and craftsmanship that many can own and enjoy that don't approach the price of a new Bentley. It seems to me however that the vast majority of folks today opt for quantity over quality. Opon further consideration, it occurs to me that this has always been the case.

Best regards,
Brad

While not everyone can afford a Bentley, everyone should have some thing in their home, during their life, that is a handmade item showing exquisite craftsmanship. Those objects become treasures and bring pleasure every time you look at it or use it.
