Room To Grow: Rolls-Royce Expands With Ghost EWB

by Gunnar Heinrich ::: img Rolls-Royce Motor Cars ::: Ghost Extended Wheelbase

FIRST, an observation from the Rolls-Royce press office:

It has taken Rolls-Royce Motor Cars just seven years to achieve record sales of 2,711 cars in 2010 since Phantom was first launched in 2003. It took Rolls-Royce Motors, the previous company, more than 70 years to achieve the same figure in a single year.

Our German CEOs Are Better Than Your German CEOs

by Gunnar Heinrich :::  img Kevin Kusina for ADLX ::: Dr. Ralf Speth, CEO Jaguar-Land Rover

CREDIT Dr. Ulrich Bez, the former Porsche engineer  and current CEO of Aston Martin for providing the sharp, unsentimental, efficient leadership that the UK based bespoke car maker needed to transform itself into a global success story. So, how much credit can be given to the fact that Dr. Bez is German? Difficult to say, but you might ask the current heads of Bentley, Jaguar-Land Rover, MINI, and Rolls-Royce.

by Gunnar Heinrich ::: img Rolls-Royce ::: Consumer Perceptions on Rolls-Royce

WHEN in 2008 Rolls-Royce announced it had sold its three-thousandth Phantom, BMW’s super-marque released pictures of RR’s chairman alongside a female customer in her new bespoke Phantom. According to a recent BBC report, this feminine client may have accounted for the .1% of women who buy Phantoms.

Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Design

by Gunnar Heinrich ::: img via IMCDB ::: Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III

AMONG Silver Cloud aficionados, the design aspect of the third edition of J.P. Blatchley’s billowing masterpiece can be something of a red herring. In short, twin sets of sealed beam Lucas headlamps sparked a controversy of, pardon the reference, royal proportions when the Silver Cloud III was introduced to an appalled establishment in AD MCMLXIII.

Video: Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud In Elegant Snow Drift

by Gunnar Heinrich ::: YouTube ::: Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud snow drifting

THIS flick showing a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud (video mislabeled Bentley S2) engaged in playful snow maneuvers is about as amusing/rare as leaked reports that Ahmadinejad got slapped by his most senior general. Random? Sure. And now to borrow a query from Jezza, ever wonder what Blenheim Palace would look like going sideways?

Well, you need wonder no longer.

eBay Watch! 1995 Rolls-Royce Corniche IV

by Gunnar Heinrich ::: img via eBay ::: 1995 Rolls-Royce Corniche IV Convertible for sale

TOE over the line from the District of Columbia and serpentine your way through the ‘burbs and you’ll find a delightfully compact Rolls-Royce / Bentley dealer in Bethesda, Maryland. This dealer is offering a rather pristine-looking ’95 Rolls Corniche IV in what we’ll call banker’s grey on banker’s grey. Only 18K miles on the odometer. That said, the price tag’s a shocker – $118K sans warranty. It’s worth noting that you can acquire a well maintained original series Bentley Azure for half the price.
