I’ve always felt that the 7 has been the weakest of BMW’s models and it seems the new 7 is more of the same. Too bad, because as Gunnar notes about the new 7, this model has usually been a driver’s car, but for this kind of money it is reasonable that the owner enjoy a complete package.

I have this theory that even the best car manufacturers can make only one great, inherently consistent car, and it is somehow connected with the brand’s tradition. In case of BMW it’s the 3 series. The 7 it is surely not – especially since they missed the opportunity to evolve the E38′s light design language and instead try to look “stately” and compete head-to-head with Daimler.
